Facts

80% of Canadians have inflammation in their gums. Surprised? Don’t be. It’s a fact. Sadly, in most cases, it progresses untreated.

Wouldn’t I feel pain if I had it? In most cases, no.

This inflammation, especially if associated with pathogens (bacteria/plaque), leads to an increased risk to such conditions as cavities, infections, and bone loss (eg. loose teeth), not to mention, systemic issues.

Frequent dental cleanings and proper home care will reduce, and hopefully eliminate inflammation. This results in reduced acid levels in the mouth and a healthy bacterial balance.

Let us get you on the right program, designed for your needs, and find that balance.

Buyer Beware!

  • null
Many businesses selling Teeth Whitening have no dental education!
  • null
Safe Teeth Whitening can only be done by a Dentist or Registered Dental Hygienist.

How could this be?

Teeth whitening is considered a cosmetic procedure.

These businesses cannot enter your mouth… So they give you the product and have you place it in your mouth. Telling you that the product is safe.

Why is that a problem? Because although the product is safe, it may not be safe for you!

There are times when teeth whitening should not be done or should be delayed. But when it is safe, it should only be done under the supervision of a Dentist or a Registered Dental Hygienist.

What are dental sealants?

Dental sealants are thin plastic coatings that are applied to the grooves on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth to protect them from tooth decay. Most tooth decay in children and teens occurs on these surfaces. Sealants protect the chewing surfaces from tooth decay by keeping germs and food particles out of these grooves.

Tooth decay is caused by certain bacteria in the mouth. When a person eats sugar and other refined carbohydrates, these bacteria produce acid that removes minerals from the surface of the tooth. Fluoride helps to remineralize tooth surfaces and prevents cavities from continuing to form.
